In a classic Hollywood house in Los Angeles, around 200 guests gathered to celebrate Marni´s collaboration for H&M, a collection full of Marni’s signature print and color arriving just in time for spring.

Marni’s collection for H&M is all about freedom and experimentation, Marni prints and colors intended to mix and match together in a playful way. Everything goes with everything, making African prints the perfect companion to Bauhaus modernity, and sporty silhouettes sitting with more feminine shapes. The collection also includes a full range of shoes, bags and charming accessories to create a total Marni look at H&M. Meanwhile for men, Marni offers a fresh take on menswear staples, with a subtle use of print and a softened use of color.

The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts presents the U.S. premiere of Il Teatro alla Moda Theater in Fashion now in its second extended run through March 18^th. This universally well-received exhibition is the first to explore Italy’s famous haute couture designers and their impact on the stages of opera, dance and theater.

The exhibition features more than 80 costumes, sketches and drawings from Giorgio Armani, Roberto Capucci, Enrico Coveri, Fendi, Alberta Ferretti, Romeo Gigli, Antonio Marras, Missoni, Emanuel Ungaro, Valentino and Gianni Versace.

Il Teatro Alla Moda was brought to Beverly Hills to celebrate the current transformation of the city’s Italian Renaissance Post Office into a distinctive performing arts venue and to honor the designers’ contributions to the performing arts.

I recently had the opportunity to view the exhibition and was enthralled by the beauty seen in these magnificent costumes. Conceived and curated by Massimiliano Capella of Musei Mazzucchelli in Brescia, Italy and promoted by Fondazione Giacomini Meo Fiorot onlus-Musei Mazzucchelli and Altaroma, the presentation allows you the opportunity to view the theatrical craftsmanship of these great Italian designers in an intimate setting.

“The relationship between theater and fashion has allowed the designers to leave their own unique mark on theatrical events,” said Curator Capella. “These designers brought their signature styles and their love of the arts to the stage to capture the essence of the characters in the productions. The distinctive look of each house is apparent in these works for the stage.”

The museum hours are Wednesday – Sunday, 11a. to 6p.  Ticket’s can only be purchased at the door and are $10 for adults.  Children under 12 and students with valid ID are free. Two hour free parking is available directly across the street.

Katy Perry’s elegant Elie Saab beaded gown in sea foam with opened boat neck, three quarter sleeves and belt was 50’s chic, but would have faired better without the matching hair.

Carrie Underwood - Gomez-Gracia

Carrie Underwood in a Gomez-Gracia, high-neck long sleeved black and white confetti gown with black clutch and diamond drop earrings was the perfect choice for the evening.

Taylor Swift - Zuhair Murad

Taylor Swift selected a beautiful Zuhair Murad high collared, opened neck, capped sleeved, embroidered gown that was paired with simple accessories and up swept hair.

Gwyneth Paltrow - Stella McCartney

Gwyneth Paltrow, always a winner, scored again, in a black halter neck Stella McCartney gown and metallic gold belt that was reminiscent of Halston’s glory days.

Kathy Griffin - Michael Kors

Kathy Griffin who’s typically not one of my favorites was in vogue in a Michael Kors ivory one sleeved jersey gown, with side ruching that made the comedian look like a Greek goddess. Her loosely styled hair with slight wave was also a winner.

Paris Hilton - Basil Soda

Paris Hilton opted for glam choosing a sophisticated ivory gown, accented with gold and ivory beaded detail and gold belt by Basil Soda.

Corinne Bailey Rae - Chirstian Siriano

Corinne Bailey Rae wore her version of the classic 50’s party dress complete with a ruffled tiered skirt by Christian Siriano. She gave the look a little edge by paring it with a chunky platform heels and side swept hair.

Kate Beckinsale - Zuhair Murad

Kate Beckinsale continued her award season’s red carpet winning streak in a one shouldered, Zuhair Murad draped cocktail dress accented with an oversized black bow, shoes and pulled back hair.

Adele - Giorgio Armani

The true winner of the evening, taking home seven Grammy awards including record and album of the year, was Adele who also was a red carpet stunner looking magnificent in a classic beaded three quarter sleeved black Giorgio Armani gown and diamond earring that were tailor made for the look.
